The Ministry of Defense will increase the purchase of Ukrainian-made drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ukraine has registered the simplest procedure in Europe for allowing UAVs to be used in the army.
The Ministry of Defense has concluded 16 state contracts with Ukrainian drone manufacturers. In 2023, about UAH 20 billion should be directed to this segment. This was announced on Saturday, January 28, by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The department said that this year they will increase the purchase of UAVs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, taking into account the needs and requests of the Ukrainian army.
At a joint meeting of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, Ukrainian developers and manufacturers of UAVs, it was noted that Ukraine has the simplest procedure in Europe for allowing UAVs to be used in the army.
After the introduction of a new admission procedure, which previously lasted one and a half to two years, and now takes a few weeks, from November 2022 to January 2023, the Ministry of Defense received 75 applications for UAVs of various types from Ukrainian manufacturers. 13 of them have already received codification, technical specifications have been approved. Three more types of UAVs are in the stage of codification.
Earlier on Friday, it became known that Ukraine received six systems for intercepting Fortem DroneHunter F700 drones. In the Ministry of Figures they were called “Catchers of Shaheeds”.
