The invaders are trying to weaken the Ukrainian air defense, so they first launch kamikaze drones, and then missiles.
The head of the Joint Coordinating Press Center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalya Gumenyuk, said that Russia, in between massive missile attacks, could bombard Ukraine point-to-point. In addition, the enemy is trying to deplete the air defenses. She spoke about this on the air of the telethon.
“Now, even after massive missile attacks, when everyone is already used to the fact that you can take a certain pause of 10-12 days while they are preparing, the enemy does not sleep and has begun to terrorize us with such small air attacks,” Gumenyuk noted.
According to her, although the Russian Federation has reduced the ship grouping in the Black Sea to 11 ships, it keeps three rocket carriers with 20 Caliber at the ready.
“This suggests that they continue to keep pressure on the population and pinpoint missile strikes are absolutely not excluded. Most likely, due to the weather, they will not be able to use drones, but they should not relax, because it happens that the gust of wind subsides at night, and it is they are now using the night to use Shahed,” the head of the Joint Coordinating Press Center of the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine said.
She also added that the Russian Federation has changed the tactics of missile strikes. In particular, the invaders are trying to weaken the Ukrainian air defense, so they first launch kamikaze drones, and then rockets.
“They track and see the effectiveness of our air defense, which has increased up to 75-80% in countering precisely their massive missile attacks. They are looking for tactics when they can reduce this percentage of counteraction from our air defense. Therefore, they use the cheaper Shahed in the first waves to reconnoiter and destroy air defense systems and deplete the surveillance system, and only then they launch missile attacks,” Gumenyuk explained.
Recall that on January 26, the Russians launched 55 missiles of various types and 24 Iranian Shahed-136 drones. Air defense forces destroyed 47 missiles and all drones.
