The Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar has arrested a local resident Alexei Ovchinnikov for 15 days for an anti-war conversation with his wife over dinner in a restaurant, the 93.ru portal reports.
Ovchinnikov was charged with petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), and his wife Olesya was fined 1,000 rubles under the same article. In addition, a report was drawn up against the girl on “discrediting” the Russian army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), it will be sent to court later.
Aleksey and Olesya Ovchinnikov were detained on Monday, January 30, in the Krasnodar restaurant Na Drovakh. The owner of the restaurant called the police. According to the Ovchinnikovs, the policemen who arrived put them on the floor in handcuffs and kept them in that position for about an hour, after which they were taken to the police department of the Western District.
The policemen told them that the detention was related to anti-war statements. They drew up protocols on petty hooliganism (Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), after which Olesya Ovchinnikova was released from the police department.
