The Ministry of Education (MEC) released the notices for the three main selection processes that allow students to enter Brazilian universities. They are the Unified Selection System (Sisu), the University for All Program (Prouni) and the Student Financing Program (Fies).
With the new publications, some dates that had previously been announced were changed. The public notices detail the entire process of selecting students, from enrollment to the registration process at universities and institutes.
Content
Sisu allows students to compete for vacancies to enter universities and public institutes of higher education. For this, it is necessary to have taken the National High School Examination (Enem) test in the year 2022.
Entries will be open between the 16th and 24th of February and the result should be announced on the 28th of February. Click here to access the Sisu announcement published by MEC.
At the time of registration, two course options must be selected, also specifying the institution, location and shift.
It is worth mentioning that during the registration process, students can change their course options as many times as necessary, based on the partial cutoff scores updated daily.
Prouni
Those students who will apply for a place at a university, college or private teaching institute, with a total or partial scholarship of 50%, should pay attention to the Prouni dates.
Registration will be open between February 28th and March 3rd, 2023. The first call will be available between March 7th and 16th and the second call will be published between March 21st and 30th.
To participate in Prouni, students must have completed high school in a public school and have a gross monthly per capita family income of up to three minimum wages, that is, R$ 3,636 per person.
To participate in Prouni, students must have taken the Enem in 2021 or 2022. Click here to access the Prouni public notice published by MEC.
Fies
Students who will try to enter universities and private institutions via student financing must register at Fies between March 7th and 10th, 2023. The result of the selection process will be announced on March 14th of this year.
Anyone applying for these vacancies may have taken any edition of the Enem since 2010. Click here to access the Fies public notice published by MEC.
It is important to remember that those who join institutions through Fies must, after graduating, pay the financing carried out together with Caixa Econômica Federal, following the rules of the contract.
