The Ministry of Defense of Poland ruled out the transfer of F-16 to Ukraine
The Ministry of Defense said that they did not discuss the issue of transferring their fighter jets to Ukraine, contrary to the statement of the country’s prime minister.
Polish Deputy Defense Minister Wojciech Skurkiewicz said Poland had not discussed sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. He wrote about this on Tuesday, January 31, in Twitter.
“There is no talk of transferring Polish F-16s,” he wrote in response to opposition criticism of such a potential solution.
The question, which was answered by the Polish official, was raised on the social network by the deputy of the Seimas Pavel Krutul, who is a member of the commission on defense issues. He called the possible transfer of these aircraft to the Ukrainian side a threat to the “disarmament of Poland.”
“If the Ministry of Defense gives Ukraine Polish F-16 fighters instead of Russian MIG-29s, this means that we are disarming!” – says Krutul.

Recall, the day before, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Poland is ready to provide Ukraine with its F-16 aircraft, but this is possible only in coordination with NATO.
Morawiecki’s statement was immediately reacted to in the Office of the President. According to Andriy Yermak, the head of the OP, work on obtaining F-16 fighters continues.
“We have positive signals from Poland, which is ready to send them to us in coordination with NATO,” Yermak said.
