The Polish instructors intend to make the training more intensive, which will reduce the training time to five weeks.
In Poland, they plan to halve the training time of the Ukrainian military on Leopard tanks – from ten to five weeks, Reuters reports.
“If we intensify the training (by maximizing the number – ed.) of instructors, our time and our weekends, we can train an entire crew in five weeks,” said Major Maciej Banashinsky, commander of the Polish Leopard training center.
It is noted that one of the three Leopard training centers in Europe is located in the village of Sventoszow in western Poland near the border with Germany.
The Polish military refused to confirm where the Ukrainian tankers would be training. However, experts believe that this may be the center. It is noted that 14 crews of four people each can be trained at the same time in the training center.
Earlier, Spain also announced that they would train Ukrainian tankers to work for Leopard.
Recall that the Ministry of Defense of Poland said that Warsaw will be able to supply heavy Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine within a few weeks.
