The Russians understand that such a step will result in the collapse of their state for them, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense believes.
Russia will not dare to use nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine, as this will lead to its collapse. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov in an interview with The Washington Post.
“The Russian Federation is a country from which much can be expected, but not outright idiocy. Sorry, but this will not happen,” he said.
According to the major general, a nuclear strike will end not just in the military defeat of Russia, but in its disintegration.
“And they know it very well,” summed up the head of intelligence.
Recall that Budanov said earlier that the task of Ukraine today is to systematically weaken Russia. This can be achieved through integration into Euro-Atlantic and European structures.
