Austria has declared four Russian diplomats persona non grata. They must leave the country within a week, according to the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
In April 2022, Austria expelled three employees of the Russian Embassy in Vienna and one employee of the Russian Consulate General in Salzburg. “They have committed acts incompatible with their diplomatic status. Therefore, they have been declared persona non grata in accordance with Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,” – was said in a statement by the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
The Russian Foreign Ministry responded by expelling four employees of the Austrian embassy.
