US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping agreed last November that ways should be found to stabilize relations between Washington and Beijing.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. It is reported by the Financial Times.
Sources told the publication that the top US diplomat will meet with Xi Jinping during a two-day visit starting on Sunday, Feb. 5.
Blinken will travel to China after US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping agreed last November to find ways to stabilize relations between Washington and Beijing.
Blinken will reportedly be the first Secretary of State to meet Xi in China since Rex Tillerson’s visit in 2017, the first year of the Donald Trump administration. Blinken will also become the first minister in President Joe Biden’s government to visit China.
Earlier it was reported that Blinken held talks with the new head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry
