The team of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny released an investigation into European real estate and trips abroad by representatives of the United Russia party, including State Duma deputies, who criticize NATO and praise President Vladimir Putin.
State Duma deputy from “United Russia” Oleg Morozov proposed to issue the status of an undesirable person to the departed Russians. He considers NATO a threat to Russia and predicts the destruction of the Montenegrin economy.
It is in this Montenegro, according to investigators, that the villa is located, designed for Morozov’s sister, Olga Nasibullina. His sister bought a house with an area of 320 square meters worth 300 thousand euros in 2015, however, as noted, she does not have that kind of money.
Another State Duma deputy from United Russia, who is mentioned in the investigation, is Oleg Matveychev. He calls NATO “a cancerous tumor on the body of the planet, and the Russians who left the country are Jews, and also declares that children should grow up in Russia who “have never heard the name of Grebenshchikov or Pugacheva”
At the same time, as Navalny’s team found out, he married his daughter Lydia in one of the European countries. She now lives in Geneva and works for an international organization dealing with ethics. The Vremya fund pays her salary, its founder is Matveychev himself. The fund is engaged in the election projects of United Russia, for 2020 and 2021 the organization received 285 million rubles.
Matveychev himself, until recently, traveled around Europe, in particular, he visited Switzerland, Italy and Poland.
Political scientist and coordinator of the expert council of the United Russia party, Konstantin Kostin, received grants from the state, came up with compromising evidence, dealt with bots, helped United Russia in the elections, and praised the party and Putin. He, according to investigators, had a whole “plan to fight Navalny.” For all this he received hundreds of millions of rubles.
“It was Kostin who came up with the scheme with dummy donors. This is when a person donates 50 thousand rubles to Navalny, and then becomes disappointed in him and goes to write a statement. This is how the case was fabricated, according to which Alexei received nine years in prison,” Navalny’s team points out.
Konstantin Kostin allegedly owns a house in Tuscany, Italy. The area of his Tuscan possessions is almost 2 hectares, the whole site is one large olive grove. In the center of the site stands a two-story 12-room villa of 300 square meters. It was purchased in February 2014 and registered to his wife Olga Kostina.
In addition to the house, Olga Kostina bought a Mercedes in October 2022 for almost 37 thousand euros. They also have an Italian cabriolet Fiat 124 in their garage, which costs about 25,000 euros. Investigators estimate the total cost of Kostin’s Tuscan possessions at 1 million euros.
“We sent legal documents to the authorities of Italy, Switzerland and Montenegro. We demand that Morozov, Matveychev and Kostin be included in all sanctions lists in which they are not yet included. And of course, we demand sanctions against their relatives, on whom they record property. United Russia for years they tell us how good life has become under Putin and how bad it is to live in the West. So now let them live with Putin, without their European villas,” Navalny’s associates say.
