Russian losses of military equipment are huge

The data may be incomplete because not all weapons are recorded, and the Oryx project collects information on military losses only from visually confirmed data.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian army has lost more than 9,000 pieces of military equipment. This is reported by the analytical project Oryx.

According to analysts, Russia lost 5,694 pieces of equipment in battle, 242 were damaged and 2,759 were captured. Another 306 units of weapons were thrown by the Russian military on the battlefield.

The data may be incomplete, because not all weapons are recorded, and the project collects information on military losses only from visually confirmed data.

“This list includes only destroyed vehicles and equipment, about which there are photographs or videos. Therefore, the amount of destroyed equipment significantly exceeds what is recorded here. Small arms, anti-tank systems, MANPADS, mortars, unmanned ammunition, unmanned aerial vehicles that are used as unmanned bait , civilian vehicles, trailers and abandoned equipment are not included in this list.Efforts have been made to avoid duplicate entries and to distinguish between the status of equipment: captured or abandoned. In addition, if the origin of the equipment cannot be determined, it is not included in list,” analysts said.

The list is constantly updated as new visual evidence of losses becomes available.

Recall that from February 24, 2022 to February 2, 2023, the total losses of personnel of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine amounted to approximately 129,030 people.

Earlier it was reported that despite heavy losses, the enemy continues to attempt offensive operations in four directions.
