Rescue work on the Desna
An ice jam formed on the Desna, as a result of which the water level rose significantly and there was a threat of flooding of nearby houses.
Today in the Brovarsky district of the Kyiv region, rescuers freed the channel of the Desna from the congestion, because of which there was a threat of flooding of houses. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.
“Today, in the Brovarsky district of the Kyiv region, rescuers with the help of a special snow and swamp vehicle Bogun reached the place of pyrotechnic work on the Desna River. An ice jam has formed here for the second time, as a result of which the water level has risen significantly and there is a threat of flooding of nearby houses. After the a complex of preparatory measures, specialists of the State Emergency Service undermined the ice floes in the riverbed. Water went into the vacated gully. Within a few hours, the water level began to stabilize, “the press service reports.
Recall, because of the work on the river, the people of Kiev today, February 3, could hear explosions.
As already reported, in the Chernobyl zone, the water level in the Uzh River has rapidly risen. The winter flood caused the accumulation of ice – ice jams. This entails a danger to Kyiv.
