If Russian and Belarusian participants are admitted, so many countries will be able to join the boycott of the Olympic Games in Paris, which will make their holding pointless.
The coalition of countries that will boycott the Paris Olympics if the Russian Federation and Belarus are allowed to, may reach 40 countries. This was stated by the Minister of Sports and Tourism of Poland Kamil Bortnichuk, reports BBC.
The Minister noted that the United States, Great Britain and Canada, in particular, could join the coalition. Bortnichuk believes that this number will be enough to make the competition pointless.
Earlier it was reported that the European Olympic Committees are not against the return of Russians and Belarusians to international tournaments. They expressed their position in an official statement.
Before that, the NOC was informed that if the Russians were admitted, Ukraine could boycott the Olympics.
