In Kyiv, operatives exposed a criminal scheme for the purchase of medical equipment. This is reported by the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police.
According to the investigation, the members of the working group under the tender committee, without properly examining the market prices, entered into the conclusion data on the value of the goods, much higher than the market price. Subsequently, the head of the tender committee did not properly control the activities of the working group and submitted tender documents, on the basis of which medical equipment was purchased from a private institution at a significantly inflated price.
As a result of improper performance by officials of their official duties, the state suffered damage in the amount of almost UAH 7.5 million.
The deputy chief physician for medical affairs and three heads of departments of the said medical institution were informed of suspicion of official negligence (part 2 of article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation continues, the issue of choosing the suspected measures is being decided, as well as other circumstances and persons who may be involved in the commission of these criminal offenses are being established.
For the committed, the suspect may face a penalty of imprisonment for a term of two to five years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and with a fine of two hundred and fifty to seven hundred and fifty thousand rubles.
Recall that in Kyiv they neutralized a criminal organization that, under the guise of volunteer battalions, terrorized residents.
