Commenting on the Pentagon’s announcement about supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that one should not forget yesterday’s statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Volgograd.
On the eve, the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, was in the city to participate in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, mark of the turn of the Soviet troops against Nazi Germany in the Second World War. In his speech, Putin declared that Russia is again being threatened by German tanks.
The president also declared that those who hope to defeat Russia on the battlefield, to drag European countries, including Germany, into a new war with Russia, do not understand that “a modern war with Russia will be completely different for them.”
Russian senator from Crimea, Serguei Tsekov, said the peninsula was well protected from Western weapons.
“Crimea is well protected from Western weapons, air defense systems and other weapons are located on the peninsula. Crimeans are not afraid,” said the politician. He also noted the inadmissibility of attacks on Russian territory as a whole.
