Destruction in Borodyanka
Joelle Garrio-Mailam said that the courage and courage of Ukrainians cannot but amaze and it is impossible to get used to the feat of the Ukrainian people.
President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Joel Garrio-Maillam today, February 4, visited Borodyanka, Kyiv region, which was significantly damaged during the occupation. It is reported by Ukrinform.
The guest got acquainted in Borodyanka with the consequences of the occupation of the settlement by Russian troops. In particular, she examined the destruction of multi-storey buildings, the damaged monument to Taras Shevchenko and the graffiti of the British street artist Banksy on the wall of one of the premises of the damaged Buratino kindergarten, and also visited the modular city located near the destroyed school.
“There is a struggle going on, the aggressor is very powerful, and we need weapons, everything is needed, as well as aircraft. And we are trying to inform the whole world about this from the rostrum of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, saying that we, of course, must make some sacrifices, and that our sacrifices are nothing against what the Ukrainian people endure,” Garrio-Mailam said.
She also said that the courage and courage of Ukrainians cannot but amaze and it is impossible to get used to the feat of the Ukrainian people.
“The courage, courage and determination of Ukrainians, their invincibility cannot but amaze. And it gives us all an example of how to defend our freedom, democracy, the life of our own and our loved ones, and how to protect the security of the peoples of Europe. The stability of Ukraine delights and inspires us . It is impossible to get used to the feat of the Ukrainian people,” she said.
Garrio-Mailem assured that the NATO PA resolutely and rigorously supports Ukraine.
“But we must understand that it turned out that the NATO countries were not preparing, as no one was preparing, for such a large-scale war. We do not even have the necessary ammunition to meet the needs of such an intense war. Therefore, this means that we must harness ourselves together and work to develop the potential to help achieve our goal of peace through victory,” she said.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the OSCE visited the destroyed Borodianka.
The first modular city was opened in Borodyanka at the beginning of last summer.
