The Russians included the occupied territories of Ukraine in their Southern Military District
The Russian military is seeking to integrate the newly occupied territory into a long-term strategic position.
Russia’s actions to “integrate” the occupied regions of Ukraine are unlikely to have an impact on the course of the war. About it informs British Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that the military of the Russian Federation officially included the occupied territories of Ukraine in its Southern Military District. So, yesterday, on February 3, RosSMI reported that the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions were transferred under command with headquarters in Rostov-on-Don. Earlier, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that military expansion would include the creation of “independent groupings of troops” in Ukraine.
According to British intelligence, in this way the Russian military seeks to integrate the newly occupied territory into a long-term strategic position.
“However, this is unlikely to have a direct impact on the campaign – Russia is currently deploying forces from all of Russia’s military districts under the command of a dedicated deployed headquarters,” the UK Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Earlier, British intelligence said that the Russian leadership continues to look for ways to meet the need for a large number of army personnel. The Russian Federation does not rule out the possibility of holding another stage of calls within the framework of “partial mobilization.”
Recall, according to the GUR, Ukraine is on the eve of the active phase of the war, in February and March, very active operations are expected at the front.
