A plant for the production of such UAVs will appear in Russian Yelabuga, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Russia and Iran are considering building a plant for the production of Shahed-136 Iranian kamikaze drones in the Russian city of Yelabuga in Tatarstan. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal on Sunday, February 5, citing its sources.
Mass media notes that on Sunday the Republic of Tatarstan was visited by an Iranian delegation. Here she examined the empty site for the proposed construction.
Moscow and Tehran are now, according to the interlocutors, developing an improved model of the Shahed-136 kamikaze drone, which will be able to fly “further and faster.”
The parties plan to produce at least 6,000 drones a year at a plant in Tatarstan.
Recall that the EU has imposed sanctions against the Iranian manufacturer of drones.
Seven organizations from Iran were blacklisted by the US Department of Commerce
