Novosibirsk State Duma deputy from United Russia, Dmitry Savelyev, could leave the echelon of the Vega volunteer battalion, going to fight in Ukraine. This is reported by “Taiga.Info” with reference to several sources, including in the regional legislature.
The publication writes that Savelyev traveled on a train “to the NVO zone” together with the Vega battalion from Novosibirsk, but he might not have reached the target. “Taiga.Info” claims that the deputy got off the train in the village of Chany, Novosibirsk Region.
“(Savelyev) drove to Omsk by car and flew to Moscow,” one of the unnamed sources of the publication notes. The interlocutors of Taiga.Info suggested that Savelyev could deliberately fly to the capital from Omsk, and not from Novosibirsk, so that his act would not become known immediately.
At the time of the publication, Taiga.Info journalists were unable to get a comment from Savelyev himself. Correspondents of the publication turned to the deputy in a telegram, but he did not answer. “Savelyev could fly away on urgent business or simply avoid wasting time so as not to shake in the car (with other members of the battalion),” one of the interlocutors of the publication suggested.
On February 4, United Russia posted photos on its VKontakte page with the caption “We are here.” In the pictures, Savelyev is standing in the forest, surrounded by people in military uniform. Where and when these photographs were taken is not specified. Novosibirsk media, for example, NGS.ru, claims that the photos were taken “in the NVO zone.”
The information that Savelyev decided to go “to the NVO zone” together with the Vega battalion appeared in December last year. On January 5, the local branch of United Russia in the Moshkovsky district of the Novosibirsk region reported that Dmitry Savelyev had actually joined the volunteer detachment.
