The head of Tuva, Vladislav Khovalyg, said that he had sent his representatives to the so-called “DPR” to investigate a video message in which Tuvan conscripts complain about beatings by the “DPR” military.
A video message in Tuvan and its translation into Russian appeared on the telegram channel “Asians of Russia”. In it, people in military uniform claim that since September 29 they have been training in the Novosibirsk region for three months. At the same time, the soldiers were promised that they would serve in the commandant’s battalion. At the end of December, the mobilized were brought to the “DPR”, some of them participate in the battles on the front line. According to them, due to problems with documents, they are not formally attached to any division of the Ministry of Defense, they “have no command”, but they do not refuse to fight.
“On February 4, 2023, the military of the DPR came to us. They fired at us with machine guns, forced us to do push-ups, told us that we would not leave here alive, they said that we belonged to the DPR,” the man in the video claims.
Vladislav Khovalyg said that he had phoned the “chairman” of the so-called government of the “DPR” Vitaly Khotsenko and asked him to check the legality of the police actions. “This is a blatant case that discredits the position of the mobilized,” he said.
Vice Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Sholban Kara-ool wrote on his telegram channel that he “interrupts his business trip in Siberia and flies out to clarify the circumstances.”
“Taiga.info” writes that the editors sent a short video recording, probably made during the alleged beating by the “DPR” “militia”: “several people with machine guns knock down a serviceman on the snow and swear at others.” The source provided an audio recording, which is allegedly spoken by a man from the “people’s militia” nicknamed Batya. “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” called the man with such a call sign “Lieutenant Colonel Vyacheslav Gubin.”
On the recording, a man named Batya says: “Comrade General very tearfully asked me, knowing my character, when I went here to you:” Dad, please don’t kill them. All of them are relatives of Shoigu.
