It was established that these “Crimean companies” paid the Russians allegedly for the protection of Medvedchuk’s real estate on the territory of the peninsula.
The SBU found out that the companies of Medvedchuk’s wife financed the National Guard and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
“The security service has eliminated a large-scale scheme of clandestine financing of Russian occupation groups by citizens of Ukraine. In particular, Oksana Marchenko, the wife of Viktor Medvedchuk suspected of high treason, is involved in organizing the deal. It is she who is the ultimate beneficiary of a network of Kyiv companies and an enterprise in Yalta that transferred millions amounts to the accounts of the National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the occupied Crimea,” the SBU said in a statement.
It was established that these companies paid the Russians allegedly for the protection of Medvedchuk’s real estate on the territory of the peninsula. In addition, Marchenko’s business structure regularly replenished the Russian budget in the form of paying “taxes and fees.”
“The total amount of payments made in favor of the aggressor country is more than 50 million hryvnia equivalent. To implement the scheme, Oksana Marchenko registered a company in Yalta with an authorized capital of more than 1 billion Russian rubles. To create it, she used the assets of three controlled investment companies located in Kyiv. Then the “Crimean company” signed the corresponding “security” agreements with the structures of the Russian Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia,” the SBU reported.
After the start of a full-scale invasion of Russia, Marchenko’s company continued to finance the budget of the aggressor country.
During 11 searches at the property of Medvedchuk’s wife, at the offices of her Kyiv companies and at the homes of top managers, SBU officers found documents, computers, flash drives and mobile phones with evidence of transactions, seals and bank cards that were used in illegal activities.
SBU investigators notified Marchenko and the head of an affiliated firm in Crimea of suspicion of financing actions committed with the aim of forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing state power, changing the boundaries of the territory or the state border of Ukraine. They face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier it was reported that Kozak and Medvedchuk will be tried, despite the deprivation of citizenship.
