Former federal deputy David Miranda (PDT-RJ) completed six months of hospitalization in the ICU of Clínica São Vicente, in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro. Last Monday (6), journalist and husband Glenn Greenwald used her husband’s social networks to thank him for the messages of support and update the former parliamentarian’s health status.

“David is stable and his recovery continues. Sometimes fast, but other times, like this week, struggling due to problems that keep cropping up. The path back home to full health is not yet guaranteed, but each month gets stronger and healthier, making us and his medical team more and more optimistic,” reads the statement.
David’s friends, public figures, politicians and artists expressed themselves on the social network shortly after the post, wishing strength for the family and their speedy recovery.
Since August 6 last year, the former parliamentarian has been hospitalized in serious condition. He was admitted to the hospital to be treated for an intestinal infection, after experiencing abdominal pain, and had a series of complications.
Months later, David developed a condition of sepsis (generalized infection) that spread and began to compromise one organ after another: pancreas, kidneys, liver and lungs. He had to undergo a tracheostomy to be able to breathe better.
“He and we remain grateful for all the messages of support, prayer and love we have received. I share them with David whenever possible and it helps a lot. Life is fragile, you never know tomorrow, and embracing everything and everyone that you love with gratitude and affection is crucial”, concludes the text.
