The Prime Minister of Britain noted that the first Challenger tanks will be in Ukraine in March.
Ukraine will receive the first Challenger tanks in March. Delivery of British fighter jets to Kyiv is also possible. This was stated by Rishi Sunak during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, February 8.
According to him, the fighters “were part of the conversation” with Zelensky. He added that “everything is possible” when it comes to military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“We backed up this rhetoric with action,” the British official said.
Sunak also officially confirmed the expansion of training of the Ukrainian military. In particular, in Britain, pilots and sailors will now be trained.
According to him, the training of Ukrainian pilots is the first step towards the supply of British combat aircraft to help drive the Russian occupiers out of Ukraine.
The British Prime Minister noted that there are also “supply chain needs” that accompany this type of aircraft.
“We are negotiating with our allies,” Sunak said, adding that “there are other allies involved in these purchases.”
