About 30% of the population remained in Melitopol
This is about a third of the pre-war population. Now you can leave the city only through the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that between 50,000 and 60,000 residents remained in the temporarily occupied city, which is about 30% of the population before the start of the war. He said this at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.
“This is about a third of the amount that was before February 24, 2022,” Fedorov said.
According to him, now it is possible to leave the city only through the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Earlier, the mayor reported that the invaders were holding captive more than 700 residents of Melitopol.
Recall that in the temporarily captured Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, Russian invaders come with searches to teachers.
