In the so-called “DNR” associates of Igor Strelkov (Girkin) announced the delivery of fur coats to the widows of the dead military. After recording the video, some of the women had them taken away.
Strelkov’s wife Miroslava Reginskaya posted a video on February 6 showing more than ten women standing on the street holding fur coats. One of them says that the families of the fallen servicemen gathered there, they thank those who came for such “unexpected” help. A man behind the scenes says that the gifts were presented from the Russian Aktiv of Moscow organization, they “do not forget” and “have been helping for nine years.”
The “Feminist Anti-War Resistance” contacted one of the women in the video. She confirmed in correspondence that she and at least three other women had their fur coats taken away after the video was filmed. Initially, they were told that the issued fur coats were of poor quality, and promised to issue new ones. However, after numerous calls to Olga Vasilyeva, who organized the distribution of fur coats for widows, the women were told that there was a mistake and that the fur coats were intended for other people, the report said.
The women were promised expensive gifts from Moscow for speaking on the video. According to them, often widows in photos and videos turn out to be fake. “This often happens, something is brought from Moscow and filmed, we are always grateful,” the organization’s interlocutor said. Whether all the women in the video were indeed military widows, she did not specify.
Fur coats of his own production, allegedly, were handed over to 21 women by the founder of the company “Furs of Yugra” Alexander Boryak. Meduza clarified that Boryak is indeed the founder of Furs Yugra, but the company with that name was liquidated in the summer of 2021. Now Boryak is an individual entrepreneur and his main activity is the production of fur products.
