Russia is preparing for an offensive in the spring
Putin is using the winter to resupply, re-equip, re-equip, and re-establish offensive operations in the spring.
The Russian authorities will continue to try to deplete Ukraine and at the same time restore their own forces, rearm and replenish the number of personnel in order to be ready for a new offensive in the spring. This forecast was made at a briefing on Friday, February 10, by White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby, Ukrinform reports.
“We see that the Russians continue to conduct offensive operations in the Donbass. The fighting around Bakhmut remains fierce, even now, when we are talking here,” the White House spokesman said.
In addition, Russian troops continue to fire cruise missiles at the peaceful infrastructure of Ukraine and seek to make life difficult for Ukrainians.
In this regard, Kirby expressed US assessments that Putin is also using the current winter period to replenish supplies, provisions, re-equip forces, replenish personnel and restore offensive operations in the spring.
Therefore, the United States and other allied and partner countries have increased military aid to Ukraine in recent weeks, which includes more sophisticated combat capabilities for fighting in open areas. The administration spokesman stressed that this is necessary “to help them (Ukrainians – ed.) prepare for what the Russians may be planning in the spring.”
Kirby also voiced a prediction that as weather conditions improve, “fighting is likely to get more violent.”
Recall that on Friday the General Staff reported that the Russian Federation is advancing in five directions.
