The airspace of Moldova was temporarily closed due to an unknown aircraft that looked like a weather balloon. It is reported by European Truth with reference to the Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova (AAC).
It is noted that at about 12:30 the Ministry of Defense received information that an unidentified small object similar to a meteorological balloon was found in the airspace of the Republic of Moldova in the Soroca region.
“Given the weather conditions and the impossibility of monitoring and identifying the object and its flight path, in order to ensure the safety of citizens, the interdepartmental commission on the use of airspace at 13:24 decided to temporarily close the airspace,” the report says.
The airspace was opened at 14:46 after checking the information.
Recall that Moldova temporarily closed its airspace for security reasons.
It was reported that today, February 14, an unidentified object similar to a weather balloon was also detected in the airspace of Romania. Two fighters were sent to search for him, but the crews did not confirm the presence of an air target.
