Justice sentenced the agent of the Department of Socio-Educational Actions (Degase), Alisson Pires Barreto, to 43 years and three months in prison for the crime of rape of vulnerable against two teenagers hospitalized at the Socio-Education Center Professor Antônio Carlos Gomes da Costa, on Ilha do Governor, in 2021.

In the sentence, Judge Camila Guerin, acting in the VI Court of Domestic and Family Violence against Women in Leopoldina, highlighted the robustness of the evidence and stated that the testimonies of the victims and witnesses confirm the authorship and existence of the crimes.
According to the magistrate, the teenagers were in a vulnerable situation, with restricted freedom and subject to the defendant’s hierarchy of power, who had the ability to facilitate or hinder the lives of the young women.
“They arrive already extremely vulnerable. Deprivation of liberty is a condition of psychic vulnerability. They were not in a position to consent”, says judge Camila Guerin in the sentence.

The penalty dosimetry was increased because Alisson took advantage of his hierarchical position over the girls, since he was an agent of DEGASE, and because the defendant committed the same crime at least three times against one of the teenagers, under the same conditions of time, place and manner. of execution. On one of the occasions, according to the file, Alisson left the accommodation of one of the victims and went, on the same night, to the accommodation of another.
In January of last year, the Public Prosecutor’s Office obtained the removal of another 25 DEGASE employees accused of ill-treatment and torture against inmates of a socio-educational unit. In May, a socio-educational agent from the female detention unit Professor Antônio Carlos Gomes da Costa was arrested for sexual abuse.
