Employees of the Center for Combating Extremism (Center “E”) forced the husband of student Olesya Krivtsova, who is accused of “discrediting” the Russian army, to declare on camera that the girl’s family does not consider the witnesses in her case – students of the Faculty of History of NArFU – “informers”. SOTA reports.
The video was recorded during the visit of Ilya Melkov, Krivtsova’s husband, to the Northern Arctic Federal University (NArFU). According to mother Krivtsova, this meeting was organized by Yevgeny Kalashnikov, deputy director of the Higher School of Social Sciences, Humanities and International Communications. He called Melkov to “appear for a conversation,” and at the university, “an already familiar employee of the Center” E “was waiting for her husband Krivtsova.
“Then Kalashnikov left, although all subsequent communication and filming took place in his office. The horror is precisely in this – how is a university that positions itself “out of politics”, calls a student and leaves him alone with a policeman in the office? For what? filmed? On what basis did this happen?”
19-year-old Olesya Krivtsova from Arkhangelsk, accused of “discrediting” the Russian army and justifying terrorism because of posts on social networks about the explosion of the Crimean bridge, faces up to ten and a half years in prison.
A criminal case on justifying terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and “discrediting” the Russian army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was brought against her in December 2022. The accusations are based on her anti-war stories on Instagram and reposts of entries that Olesya made in a private chat of her classmates.
It was reported that the materials of the case initiated against the girl included screenshots of her correspondence with a classmate and a denunciation. The media also published correspondence in a student chat, where classmates of Krivtsova shared screenshots of anti-war posts on her social networks and discussed where it would be better to inform her.
On December 26, police officers broke into Krivtsova’s apartment, where she lives with her husband. During the search, one of the security officers stood over Olesya with a sledgehammer. An employee of the “E” Center told her that this was greetings from the “Wagner PMC”, he said the same thing to her husband. (One of the Wagner PMC mercenaries, prisoner Yevgeny Nuzhin, who participated in the hostilities in Ukraine, was killed with a sledgehammer – NV.)
The student was also included in the list of terrorists and extremists. Being on this list entails the blocking of all bank accounts and other financial restrictions.
Olesya Krivtsova was denounced by students of her own university. Now she faces 10 years for anti-war posts. Have the Russians started reporting more often?
