This Friday (17) begins the Carnival of Brasilia, which is already known as one of the most diverse parties, with traditional street blocks with children’s programming, LGBTQIA+ theme, in addition to concerts, private parties, among others.
In all, more than 100 blocks received authorization to take to the streets until next Thursday (23) and the expectation is to gather around 1.5 million revelers in the Capital, according to the DF government.
The Brasília Carnival program is concentrated in Plano Piloto (Center), but the party also spreads across several administrative regions of the Capital, such as Ceilândia, Taguatinga, Planaltina, Jardim Botânico, among others. The theme of the party this year is “Carnival of Peace”, in an attempt to promote inclusion, tolerance and respect for diversity.
One of the highlights of this Friday is the Bloco do Prazer, which takes place from 6 pm at Praça dos Prazeres, Asa Norte. This Friday, the Monumental Axis Carnival program also begins, with the Carnamuseu, at the Memorial dos Povos Indígenas. The programming at Eixo usually brings together thousands of revelers and also features the Bloco Raparigueiros on Sunday (19) and Baratona on Monday (20).

On Saturday (18) there are several carnival blocks in Plano Piloto and also a lot of programming in administrative regions, such as Ceilândia (Carnavaflow, Praça do Cidadão, 5 pm), Taguatinga (Carnaval do Asé Dudú, Taguaparque, 5 pm), Planaltina ( concerts in São Sebastião square, 1 pm), among others. There will also be a party in Guará, Águas Claras, Cidade Estrutural and São Sebastião.

One of the most anticipated programs for the LGBTQIA+ community is the Bloco das Montadas, which will take place on Sunday (19), in Setor Bancário Norte, from 2 pm, with free admission. In addition to a varied musical program, the block will feature drag queens shows and the classic hairdressing championship, with prizes.
Another highlight of the Carnival in Brasília is the street block Manga Botânica, which will debut on Tuesday (21), at 2 pm, at Praça Vivencial do Jardim Botânico 3. The attractions will be varied, with drums from the samba school , DJs, performance by drag queens and participation of local artists, giant doll and other cultural activities.
There will also be a post-carnival program in Brasília, from the 24th to the 27th of February. The official program released by the government of the Federal District includes Ressaca de Brasília on the 25th at the Monumental Axis, activities at Asa Norte, Jardim Botânico and Cruzeiro.
