Ukrainians are warned about the likelihood of avalanches in the Carpathians
Significant snow avalanche danger is kept in the highlands of the eastern part of the Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
Avalanches are possible in the Carpathians on February 21-22. This is evidenced by the data of the Snegolovinnaya situation.
Tourists are advised to refrain from hiking in the highlands.
It is noted that a significant snow avalanche danger (the third level) is kept in the highlands of the eastern part of the Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
Moderate avalanche danger (second level) is kept in the highlands of the western and central part of the Transcarpathian region, in the mountains of Lviv and Chernivtsi regions.
Recall that on February 12-13, a snow avalanche danger of the third level was declared in the highlands of the eastern part of the Transcarpathian region.
As previously reported, as a result of avalanches in western Austria in Tyrol and Vorarlberg, eight people died within two days.
