The Ukrainian animated film Unnecessary Things directed by Dmitry Lisenbart won the Prague Film Awards at the Independent Short Film Festival. This is reported in Goskino.
It is noted that the cartoon, which was created based on the story Robert Sheckley’s Vintage Fancy Shop, was declared the winner “in recognition of meeting the highest standards of excellence in the category.”
As for the plot, it tells the story of a work named Rob. One day he was walking around the city and in the window of the Junk Shop he saw an elderly man named Robert sitting in a chair. Next to which was a sign For sale.
The store owner said the item was for sale. The robot wanted to have a friend, so he made a purchase and received a receipt.
Robert explained that now he has become Rob’s pet and now he must provide him with a roof over his head and food, and also make sure that he does not get bored. So the robot and the man began to live together.
Earlier it was reported that the film directed by Philip Sotnichenko La Palisiada at the Rotterdam International Film Festival received the Fipresci Prize.
