During February, Ukrainian defenders repelled more than 350 Russian assaults in the Maryinka region and more than 180 in the Ugledar region.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have repelled hundreds of Russian attacks over the past month. Fighting continues in the Avdeevka and Shakhtyorsk directions. The Russian military is trying to capture Maryinka and Vuhledar. Alexei Gromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this at a briefing on February 23.
According to him, the Russian troops are suffering significant losses. Hundreds of soldiers die every day.
As Gromov noted, during February, Ukrainian defenders repelled more than 350 Russian assaults in the Maryinka region and more than 180 in the Ugledar region.
“Only yesterday, our soldiers destroyed 14 tanks, 17 infantry fighting vehicles, three MTLBs, 2 mortars and Orlan UAVs and 18 quadrocopter UAVs, and only with confirmed dead, the enemy lost more than 120 and wounded 137 soldiers in an attempt to conduct an offensive, including in the direction of a populated Pobeda,” he said.
Recall that the main efforts of the Russian Federation are focusing on offensive operations in the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Shakhtyorsky directions. Over the past day, the Ukrainian military repelled about 90 attacks in these areas.
It was also reported that near Ugledar the “Cossack detachment” of the Russian Federation refuses to fight.
