RF conducts psychological operation against Chisinau
The President of Moldova stated that the country is now facing unprecedented security challenges.
Ukraine is not planning an invasion of Transnistria. This was announced on Thursday, February 23, by the Ministry of Defense of Moldova, writes the BBC.
They noted that the Kremlin’s statements about a certain threat from the Armed Forces of Ukraine are just another “psychological operation” of the Russian Federation.
The publication recalled that the day before, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that Ukrainian saboteurs were allegedly organizing a provocation in Transnistria, disguised as Russian soldiers. Thus, Ukraine allegedly wants to create a pretext for an attack.
It is also reported that Moldovan President Maia Sandu, while on a visit to Romania, said that “some want our country to fall, and that a puppet government serving the interests of the Kremlin be established in Chisinau.”
Journalists recalled that Transnistria, which declared independence from Moldova in 1990, is a narrow strip of land between the Dniester River and the Ukrainian border. A large number of Russian speakers live there. There are about 1,500 Russian troops there.
