The former publisher of Meduza and the former CEO of Yandex.Lavka, Ilya Krasilshchik, was charged in absentia in a case of spreading fake news about the Russian army. Lawyer Sergei Badamshin announced this on his telegram channel.
He is charged with Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code (“Public dissemination under the guise of reliable reports of deliberately false information containing data on the use of the RF Armed Forces in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintain international peace and security, modern based on political hatred”). Prior to this, it was reported that he was charged under the first part of this article.
The criminal case against the Dyer was initiated on April 20 on the basis of materials from the Center for Combating Extremism in the capital’s head office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
After the appearance of information about the initiation of a case, the Dyer announced his departure from Yandex. “We have been planning my exit from Yandex for a month and a half already. But I think that after today’s news, I should somehow decide on this faster. From today I no longer work for the company (officially, I haven’t really done anything since February). This is my decision, I love and respect everyone,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The dyer left Russia. In July 2022, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put him on the wanted list.
