Russia has officially informed America of the suspension of the implementation of the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty.
The Russian Federation handed over to the United States an official note on the suspension of participation in the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty (START). On Wednesday, March 1, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a comment by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Ryabkov.
“Yesterday we handed over an official note to the American side, in which we stated that the implementation of the START was suspended, but at the same time its central provisions – restrictions on the number of relevant systems – will be observed by us,” he said.
Recall that on March 1, President of Russia’s aggressor country, the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed a law suspending Russia’s participation in the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty.
Earlier, on February 21, Putin announced the suspension of Russia’s participation in START in a message to the Federal Assembly. Already on February 22, the law was unanimously adopted by the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Federation Council.
