The bodies of the dead Ukrainian soldiers are being taken home
Since the beginning of the activities of the coordination headquarters, 38 exchanges of prisoners have already been made, thanks to which 1863 people have been released.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the bodies of 1,409 dead defenders of Ukraine have been returned to their homeland and 1,863 prisoners have been released. This was reported by the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
“Andrey Yusov, head of the working group on interaction with the media and relatives of defenders, recalled that 38 prisoner exchanges have already been made since the beginning of the operation of the headquarters, thanks to which 1,863 people have been released. Among them, 1756 military personnel and 135 civilians. 1,409 bodies of fallen defenders have been returned to their native land,” the report says.
Yusov noted that the headquarters does not stop international activities for the return of our defenders. In addition, 120 lawsuits have been filed with the European Court of Human Rights.
Earlier it was reported that a Ukrainian soldier died in Russian captivity.
