Workers who have an Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) registration and are in arrears with the payment of the Simples Nacional Collection Document (DAS) can regularize their situation by paying in installments.
Late payment of the DAS, which is the document that gathers information about the monthly taxes of each MEI, can result in suspension of the CNPJ, transfer of debt to the individual microentrepreneur’s CPF and even loss of social rights.
DAS taxes are fixed and based on the updated value of the minimum wage. In addition, they vary according to the nature of the activity carried out by each micro-entrepreneur.
To make the payment, due on the 20th of each month, the worker must access the website of the Individual Microentrepreneur DAS Generator Program and enter his CNPJ. Next, you must select the option “issue payment slip”, also informing the reference year.
At the end, you must select the installments to be paid, inform the day on which the payment will be made and download the slip. If the worker selects overdue installments, the amount of the fine and interest will be included in the bill. It is worth mentioning that installments of the current year that are in arrears cannot be paid in installments.
If there are more than 12 installments in arrears, as long as they refer to previous years, the micro-entrepreneur will be able to pay the amounts in installments. Payment can be divided into up to 60 installments, with a minimum installment of R$ 50.
To pay in installments, access the Simples Nacional website, click on “Simei Serviços” and then on “Installment”. After providing some data and having the request accepted, the worker will be able to select the installments to be paid and confirm the operation.
It is important to remember that payment of this guide must be made within two business days. The installment payment slips can be accessed monthly on the Simples Nacional website, but if you prefer, the worker can inform a current account through which the monthly automatic debit of the amounts will be authorized.
