In Germany, the arbitration commission of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) rejected a request to expel former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder from the SPD.
The ex-chancellor’s expulsion was initiated by 17 regional party associations. In their statement, they pointed out that Schroeder did not sufficiently distance himself from Moscow and Russian President Vladimir Putin after the start of the Russian war against Ukraine.
