The fight that took place between fans before Flamengo’s game against Vasco last Sunday (5), at Maracanã, left eight injured. One of them, identified as Bruno Macedo dos Santos, did not resist and died after being admitted to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital, in downtown Rio.
At the end of this Monday morning (6) three patients were still hospitalized, two of them in serious condition. Three others were discharged and one left the unit by default.
The fights started around 4:45 pm, when ambulances from the Fire Department were called to help at least two people.

The National Association of Organized Supporters of Brazil (Anatorg) sent a press release stating that there was no relationship between the fans shot and organized supporters.
“Anatorg continues to defend individual punishment, in the citizen’s CPF, that causes any type of crime, according to the penal code. Institutions and other fans who have nothing to do with episodes of violence cannot be penalized”, he defended.
The Military Police informed the portal G1 that, in addition to the reinforcement given to the UPP Mangueira team, 600 police officers worked in the stadium area. A man was found on Avenida Pedro II, with injuries to his body and was rescued by the Fire Department.
He also said that a second victim was found on Almirante Baltazar Street and taken to Quinta D’Or Hospital.
The police also said that a man involved in one of these fights was arrested. Around 50 pieces of wood, nine iron bars, five homemade bombs, fireworks, brass knuckles and an explosive device were seized at different points in São Cristóvão, Maracanã and Madureira.
