As part of the Women’s Day celebrations, the Public Defender’s Cart of the Federal District (DPDF) will pass, throughout the month of March, through different regions of the DF offering services related to Family Law, as well as guidance and care for women in violence situation.
On Saturday (11), the mobile unit will be in Vicente Pires, starting at 9 am, at the headquarters of the Regional Administration of Vicente Pires. This Tuesday and Wednesday, March 8th and 9th, the cart was at the Plano Piloto bus station, with services from 8 am to 4 pm.
During the action, the Public Defender’s Office provides legal assistance related to custody, divorce and alimony, among other issues of Family Law.
According to the public defender and coordinator of the DPDF’s Promotion of the Defense of Women’s Rights, Antonia Carneiro, the Carreta is also an opportunity to get closer to women victims of domestic violence, who often feel embarrassed and embarrassed to seek out institutions, such as police stations and the Justice.
“This is the time to get closer to people who do not know or do not have access to Defender and Justice services. This month, we are prioritizing women, providing guidance to victims of domestic violence to refer them to the judicial system”, he adds. the advisor for the Coordination of Itinerant Assistance at DPDF, Juliana Mendes.

The DPDF Mobile Cart is a tool for accessing justice that emerged with the aim of decentralizing the assistance provided by the Public Defender’s Legal Assistance Centers and bringing people in situations of social vulnerability closer to the services offered by the defender’s office. The mobile unit has 15 service desks and a mediation room.
“The Ombudsman’s itinerant equipment travels through different regions of the DF to fulfill its mission of guaranteeing the fundamental rights of families in vulnerable situations. In the vehicle, all the basic services of the DF’s Public Defender’s Office are available, as well as other specificities according to the previous study of the demands of each region”, explains DPDF.
