Almost 5 million hryvnias were appropriated in Dnipro for the reconstruction of parks
Among them are the heads of two utility companies of the Dnipro City Council and three contracting organizations.
Law enforcement officers exposed a group of officials who embezzled almost five million hryvnias for the reconstruction of parks in the Dnieper and the maintenance of green spaces. This was reported by the press service of the National Police on Friday, March 10.
Suspicion has been reported to five persons. Among them are the heads of two utility companies of the Dnipro City Council and three contracting organizations.
It is noted that in the “scheme” the heads of public utilities attracted controlled companies that were participants in electronic trading and actually competed with each other for the victory. Contracts were concluded with the winner to carry out certain works for funds allocated from the local budget.
In general, contracts were concluded for the reconstruction of recreation parks in the Dnieper, their landscaping and maintenance of plantings. Subsequently, contractors purchased goods at inflated prices and included in the acts of work and services that were either not performed or were partially performed. The resulting excess cash was distributed among all participants in the transaction.
Under several agreements alone, the amount of funds appropriated and, accordingly, the damage caused is almost five million hryvnias.
