Oleg Protasov shocked by the behavior of prosecutors and investigators
The way prosecutors and investigators behaved during the investigative activities at the House of Football “caused not just surprise, but sometimes shock,” Oleg Protasov noted.
The first vice-president of the Ukrainian Football Association Oleg Protasov appealed to the Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin with a request to “stop unlawful pressure on the UAF.” He announced this on Facebook.
“In my appeal, I ask you to stop the unlawful pressure on the UAF, which is carried out by certain representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor General, and to comply with the decisions of the Goloseevsky District Court of Kyiv, by which the Prosecutor General is obliged to consider the petition of UAF lawyers to remove prosecutors Kovalev and Mustets from investigating football cases,” – Protasov wrote.
According to him, UAF lawyers made “numerous statements about the illegal actions of prosecutors in relation to the association.”
“We are talking about the facts of falsification of evidence in the case files, the presentation of suspicions by unauthorized persons, investigative actions without court decisions and the seizure of documents that are not related to proceedings, etc.,” Protasov specified and added that “a witness to the illegal actions of law enforcement officers I had to become myself.”
According to him, the way the prosecutors and investigators behaved during the investigative activities in the Football House “caused not just surprise, but sometimes shock.”
“Intimidation, blackmail, threats against women with demands to give up personal belongings… Of course, there should be a reaction from the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to such lawlessness of subordinates,” Protasov wrote.
He suggested that Kostin might not be aware of how his subordinates operate.
“I admit that Mr. Kostin might not have been informed about what is happening in the proceedings against the UAF. My appeal outlines all the facts of violations of the law by prosecutors. And therefore, now I count on their due assessment by the prosecutor general,” summed up the first vice president of the football association.
Recall that earlier on the fact of the construction of a plant for the production of artificial turf for football fields, a case was opened, in which prosecutors initiated the removal of UAF President Andrei Pavelko from his post for a month. The UAF denies all charges in the case, appealed against the decision to dismiss and clarified that it will not have any consequences for Pavelko’s work.
