Lukashenko arrived on an official visit to Iran
The White House is closely following the development of relations between Russia and Iran, as well as the results of Lukashenka’s visit to Tehran.
Alexander Lukashenko went on a visit to Tehran in the interests of the Kremlin, in order to strengthen the ties between Russia and Iran. This was announced on Monday, March 13, by US State Department spokesman Ned Price during a video briefing.
“As for Lukashenka’s visit to Iran, we see it as further deepening of relations between Iran and Russia,” Price stressed.
Military ties between Moscow and Tehran have long been a source of concern in Washington, according to a US State Department spokesman. Lukashenka can take on the role of an intermediary between these states.
Price also pointed out that the growing ties between Minsk and the Kremlin may indicate that Lukashenko is ready to cede the sovereignty of his own state to Russia.
The State Department spokesman said that the White House is closely following the development of relations between Russia and Iran, as well as the results of Lukashenka’s visit to Tehran.
Recall, Belarus and Iran signed a plan of comprehensive cooperation for 2023-2026.
Alexander Lukashenko is trying, with the help of his international activity, to find new patronage instead of Russian. This opinion was expressed by adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mikhail Podolyak.
