SBU employees detained their former colleague
Having left Ukraine, the man, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, called his former colleagues and urged them to leave Kiev, and in case of refusal, threatened to “leak” their data to the Russian special services.
A former SBU officer who called on Ukrainian defenders to desert was detained. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
“The internal security officers of the SBU detained a former employee of one of the structural divisions of the special services, who carried out subversive activities in favor of the aggressor country. On the eve of a full-scale invasion, he quit his service and left for one of the EU countries. From there, he called his former colleagues by phone and urged them to desert from Kiev, promising that in this case “everything will be fine” with them. And in case of refusal, he threatened to “leak” their personal data to representatives of the Russian special services,” the SBU said in a statement.
The former intelligence officer also tried to convey to the enemy information about mobilization activities and locations of individual units of the Defense Forces and for this he tried to obtain this information from the SBU officers.
“In March 2023, he crossed the state border of Ukraine, where he was immediately detained,” the SBU reported.
The detainee was notified of suspicion of treason and desertion and taken into custody, all the details of his illegal activities are being clarified.
Earlier it was reported that the ex-head of the SBU Bakanov appears in the case of the State Bureau of Investigation on the occupation of territories.
Recall, the SBU reported suspicion of treason to the former police chief of the Vinnytsia region. He is charged with preparing for the FSB a “plan” of terrorist attacks against civilians in Ukraine.
