A court in Khabarovsk sentenced 5.5 years of probation to 21-year-old Daniil Frolkin, a Russian soldier who confessed to the murder of a resident of the Kyiv region. He was convicted under the article on the dissemination of “fakes” about the Russian army (paragraphs “b” and “d” of part 2 of article 207.3). Sibir.Realii write about it.
The case against him was opened in December 2022 against. The prosecution asked for six years in prison for him. Frolkin was not under arrest, he left the courtroom.
A soldier of the 64th motorized rifle brigade, Daniil Frolkin, admitted to committing crimes in Ukraine in an interview with Important Stories in August 2022. “I, a soldier of military unit 51460, guard corporal, Frolkin Daniil Andreevich, confess to all the crimes that I committed in Andreevka: shooting the civilian population, robbing the civilian population, confiscating their phones, and that our command is in *** does not put our fighters, all the infantry that fights on the front line, on the front line,” he said.
He also confessed to committing one murder – Ruslan Yaremchuk, a resident of the Kyiv region. “Yes, I shot one civilian there, he gave the coordinates of our columns, our boys were killed. I tell him: “Go ahead.” He goes. I tell him: “Kneel down.” Frolkin says in the video.
By the time the interview was published, Frolkin had retired from service in the Russian Armed Forces. From the investigation of “Important stories” it follows that several more Russian military men may be involved in the murders in the Kyiv region: Dmitry Danilov, Ruslan Glotov, Ivan Shepelenko.

On June 17, 2022, the Kiev-Svyatoshinsky district prosecutor’s office of Ukraine announced the suspicion to Frolkin. He is charged with part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “Violation of the laws and customs of war.” For the murder of a civilian, he faces a life sentence in Ukraine.
