Russian Foreign Ministry scares the world with “destabilization due to adjustment of the oil price ceiling”
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry called the initiative to adjust the price ceiling “an embodiment of Russophobic sentiments completely divorced from economic realities.”
A possible adjustment of the price ceiling for oil from Russia will lead to destabilization in global markets, as well as to the destruction of “remnants of the rules of international trade.” This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, reports the Russian agency TASS.
According to Zakharova, the West went for the establishment of a price ceiling for oil, contrary to the traditional rhetoric about commitment to market mechanisms and the liberalization of the economy and the energy sector.
Zakharova believes that the appeals on this subject from Poland, Latvia and Lithuania are just “the desire to please their masters overseas, who are striving to punish Russia with all their might.”
Zakharova called the initiative to adjust the price ceiling “the embodiment of Russophobic sentiments completely divorced from economic realities,” and the policy of the above-mentioned countries “irresponsible.”
Earlier it was reported that the EU and the US will revise the ceiling on oil prices from the Russian Federation.
