The Konakovo City Court of the Tver Region sentenced the married couple Alexander Martynov and Lyudmila Razumova to real terms under articles on military fakes and vandalism, OVD-Info writes.
Martynov was sentenced to six years and six months in a penal colony, Razumova was sentenced to seven years in a penal colony. During the debate, the state prosecutor demanded that both spouses be sentenced to seven years in prison.
The case of “fakes” (point “e” of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against Martynov and Razumova was initiated in March 2022, at the same time they were sent into custody. Under this article, Martynov is charged with posts in Odnoklassniki: a repost of an entry about the killed residents of Mariupol, where the Russian military was called “scum”; the publication of a video with a caption that the Russian military shelled residential buildings in Kherson; a video where Sergei Surovikin is called a war criminal. The investigation calls all these records “fake”.
Razumova, according to investigators, made six entries on the social network with a video that talked about shelling by the Russian army of civilians in Ukraine and destroyed cities. In particular, in some of them the military of the Russian Federation was called “rashists” and “vata-fascists”.
Later they were charged with an article on vandalism. According to the investigation, Martynov and Razumova, using paint and a stencil “in the form of a merger of two people, V.V. Putin and A. Hitler,” left inscriptions in the villages of Mokshino, Varaksino, Teshilovo, in the villages of Mirny and Novozavidovsky.
In particular, the prosecution believes that the couple wrote “Putler kaput” and “Ukraine, forgive us” on the wall of the “Konfetka” store in Novozavidovskoye. The indictment states that by doing so they did not harm the owner of the establishment. Also, according to the prosecution, Razumova and Martynov left the phrases “Peace to Ukraine”, “Putin is war” and others.
In January 2023, the prosecutor’s office of the Tver region requested seven years and six months in prison for spouses. Already in February, the court resumed the investigation of the case on the basis of Razumova’s statement that she did not consider the videos she published about the death of civilians in Ukraine to be “fake”.
Almost all the time of Razumova’s detention, as OVD-Info notes, she is kept alone in a cell designed for four people in SIZO-1 in Tver. The administration of the detention center refuses to accommodate the accused with other women, explaining this by the article that she was shown. For a short period, Razumova was transferred to a general cell, but later they were placed in solitary anyway.
Since March 2022, in Russia, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, 187 criminal cases have been opened about “fakes” against the Russian army (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to Pavel Chikov, the head of the human rights group “Agora”, 149 people are involved in these cases, and cases have been initiated against some of the defendants in several episodes.
The human rights activist stressed that the largest number of criminal cases on military “fakes” were opened in Moscow (42), St. Petersburg (10) and the Omsk region (9).
