The UK intends to help the International Criminal Court in The Hague with a forensic medical examination and investigation of the charges brought against the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin. This was announced on Friday, March 17, by British Attorney General Dominic Raab, writes BBC.
“It will be, I suspect, a long process, but the same was said about Yugoslavia, about Rwanda, and many people responsible for the bloodshed ended up in court,” Dominic Raab said.
The British minister stressed that in the near future it will be “difficult” for Putin, because an arrest warrant from the Hague court automatically blocks his path to those countries that are members of the ICC.
“But now it is important that those members of the international community who support the ICC make sure that the court has sufficient support in the investigation, in the forensic examination, in the interview of witnesses, in the technical support. And this is what we will do here in London. together with our Dutch colleagues and our partners around the world,” Raab said.
It should be noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that issuing an arrest warrant for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is a decision from which historical responsibility will begin.
Recall that the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued international warrants for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the court decision, now Putin must be arrested in 123 countries around the world that have ratified the Rome Statute or recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC.
