The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Kremlin head Vladimir Putin and Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Alekseevna Lvova-Belova.
The decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for the president of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, due to war crimes, is justified. This was announced on Friday, March 17, by US President Joe Biden, writes The New York Times.
“I think it’s justified,” the American leader said while talking to reporters at the White House, commenting on the decision of the Hague court.
The head of the White House stressed that the ICC is not recognized by the States, but the warrant “is a very strong argument.”
“Putin has clearly committed war crimes,” Biden said.
Recall that the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued international warrants for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the court decision, now Putin must be arrested in 123 countries around the world that have ratified the Rome Statute or recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic believes that the decision of the International Criminal Court in The Hague to issue an arrest warrant for Kremlin head Vladimir Putin in connection with crimes in Ukraine could cause “an escalation of the conflict, which, in turn, could provoke a Third World War.”
